FIRST IMPRESSIONS

A large man, at over six feet tall, and broad-shouldered. He looks strong and carries himself like that. In fact, when he handles objects, people, or touches things, he tends to do wit ha careful sense of control about him. His hair is typically left longer nad these days is usually tied back in a ponytail or up in a sort of bun or topknot to keep out of the way. He is typically level-voiced and has a ready smile, although the missing eye and eye patch give him a bit of a sinister feel.

PERSONALITY

Dimitri Blaiddyd is a genuinely kind and well-meaning person at his heart, who would rather help others and find a common dialogue than resort to violence or strength of arms. He is more than willing to lend assistance to anyone who asks, whether that's providing his great strength in labor or by lending a shoulder or ear. He desires a more peaceful life than the one he has been born into - but he also carries with him trauma, anger, and sorrow that seems to darken his soul. He struggles with the weight of survivor's guitl and a deep sense of responsibility that can weigh him down. He is self-sacrificing, perhaps to a fault, and struggles at times to not put others before himself. By the same token, he has a strong sense of loyalty and friendship - not one that is easily broken - and is quite willing to trust people on first meeting.

BACKGROUND

Dimitri Blaiddyd is a man with a deep well of trauma, PTSD, and survivor's guilt. He survived a massacre and an assassination attempt when he 10 or 11, one that left a good friend of his and his father dead, along with countless others. Since then he has been stricken with guilt for surviving and for a long time, imposed on himself the responsibility for slaughtering anyone connected with that dark day of his history. He also carries the heavy weight of rulership. He fought a war to a successful conclusion to secure security for his kingdom. He was crown prince of Faerghus and is now king of it - and a reunited Fodlan. He feels personally responsible for ensuring the well-being of his kingdom and cares deeply for his people. He is capable of great violence, although he no longer relishes it as he once did.

At his heart, however, a part of him would rather have not been king in the first place. He is gentle in many respects, preferring to work with his hands or perform simple labor rather than deal with court politics. But he is determined, brave, and true to his friends now that he has begun the long, slow recovery from the darkest depths of his own mind. The question is whether he will be able to maintain that in the face of yet more loss of those he cares for and the people he felt bound to protect.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Knight and King

Dimitri is, by virtue of long practice, a skilled warrior and combatant. He has a head for rulership and tactics. He likes horse-riding and knows how to deal with animals. He also has a sense for politics, despite his trusting nature, and can be cunning when called upon. He has practiced arms most of his life (and can do things like swim in full armor, kid's wild).

This crest gives him near super-human strength and stamina and deep reserves of power that he can tap into, turning him into a one-man wrecking ball on the battlefield. It also has unfortunate side effects off the battle-field - fine-tuning his own strength has been a problem in the past and he has been known to accidentally shatter his weapons in training or to break things through over-exertion.

Blessing of Set.

Having recently pledged himself to the war-god Set in Kenos, he has been rewarded for his efforts by being granted a fraction of Set's power. IN this case, the power to temporarily confuse or befuddle his opponents.
